South Metropolitan Health Service in Western Australia sets a new record with 132 medical interns, thanks to the Doctor Support Unit (DSU). The DSU, launched in June 2024, focuses on junior doctors professional growth, wellbeing, and training, leading to SMHS becoming a top choice for interns. The DSU aims to address doctor shortages by improving work-life balance and reducing reliance on overseas hires.
