In this episode, our host Dr. Graeme Smith talks to Dr. Isabelle Boucoiran about cytomegalovirus (CMV) in pregnancy. CMV is a common virus that rarely causes problems in healthy people. However, a pregnant individual infected with CMV can pass it to their developing baby. This is called congenital CMV, and it can cause birth defects and other health problems.
