午夜干杯 MidnightToast#3 素与荤之间，我们如何摇摆日益紧迫的气候变化、环境动物保护、多文化的饮食环境、对食材和身体健康的关注......种种因素的促使，在我们身边“吃素”的朋友越来越多，关于荤素的讨论成为饭桌上、生活中绕不开的一个话题。
在本期节目中，我们不会涉足“为什么要吃素”：我们认可所有动机的合理性，也相信有更专业的人可以给每种动机做出更专业的论述。在这个主题下，我们其实想讨论的是，在吃素和吃肉这种被分化的两级之间，也许存在着一个更加丰富多样的饮食光谱。
我们可以出于不同的理由在这些选项之间作出个性化的选择：比如吃什么肉，吃多少，在哪里买肉，为什么不吃肉，不吃什么肉，如何实践不吃肉等等。我们想和大家分享在我们生活中遇到的人，分享一些更加私人的故事，他们做出的饮食消费选择，以及设计师和艺术家们，他们是如何与这个议题相碰撞，作出一些或戏谑、或警醒、或引人反思的作品的。
在疫情反复的当下，大都市食物供应断链，人们疲于抢菜的消息每天在中文互联网上铺天盖地而来。这些都让我们忍不住自我质问，在这个节点讨论这个选题是否在当下显得有些不合时宜，格格不入？但是扣心自问，我们讨论这个话题的初心，并不是要对不同饮食习惯居高临下作出点评，而是在全球粮食危机、环境恶化的背景下，探讨作为普通的消费者，在满足个人欲求和为优化食物系统、改善生态环境做贡献之间我们有哪些其他的选择。也许这应当成为一个契机，重新去思考我们与食物之间的关系。

【講者介紹】
王艾莉
畢業於皇家藝術學院互動設計碩士 (Royal College of Art, MA Design Interactions)及聖馬丁藝術學院 (Central St. Martins) 產品設計。作品曾受邀參與米蘭傢俱展，北京今日美術館，以色列霍龍設計博物館，上海美術館…等展覽。2008年更榮獲英國康藍集團 (Conran Foundation Award) 選為當年皇家藝術學院最優秀畢業生之一。王艾莉目前是王艾莉設計的負責人，團隊作品從「頁讀車輪餅」、「句子販賣機」、「Asimov's First Law」，敘述著人各類的心理狀態和行為，擅長利用設計來探究各種社會現象；觀察被社會埋沒或遺忘的議題。
林沛瑩
臺灣藝術家與設計師，現居荷蘭安荷芬，為安荷芬理工大學博士生。英國皇家藝術學院 (Royal College of Art) 設計互動系 (Design Interactions) 碩士。曾與友人共同創立台灣生物藝術社群與藝術團體㗊機體。主要創作方向為透過藝術方法探索科學與人類社會結合的各種可能性，尋找讓大眾討論建構不同文化與個人觀點元素的基底。最近的研究主題為玩弄可見／不可見、有生命／無生命之間的界線，並尋找探索這個界限的工具與方法。曾得到STARTS Prize 2020年榮譽獎、Ars Electronica 2015年Hybrid Arts類別榮譽獎、2016年BioArt and Design Award、2015年Core 77設計獎Speculative Concepts專業組第二名，並曾於CERN駐村。
