仙台を拠点に活動を行う実力派4人組が集結した、インストゥルメンタル・バンドBarrier Reef（バリアリーフ）が新曲「Solaris」をデジタルリリース、ミュージックビデオが公開となった。
この度リリースとなった新曲「Solaris(ソラリス)」は、まるで現代に見る秩序と混沌、その先にある変容を描くかのように、4人が織りなすサウンドが緩やかに、そして激しさを増していく、わずか4分間の音像にみる衝撃的な展開が繰り広げられている。
Barrie Reef（バリアリーフ）は2020年1月に結成した仙台を拠点に活動する実力派4人が集結するインストゥルメンタル・バンドで、2月に1stアルバム「On Writing」を配信リリース、翌年には1stEP「Clean is not allowed in the world」をリリースし、2022年2月にシングル「Strobo（ストロボ）」をリリースし、前作「Strobo」は、4人で組み交わす、筋が通ったサウンドの迫力と共に、駆け抜ける疾走感がクセになる楽曲で、インディー音楽を精力的に紹介し、早耳リスナーから一目置かれるCD屋HOLIDAY!RECORDSでの紹介を機にポストロック、エモ、インディーロック好きから注目を集めた。
バンドは個々の活動を通じて、エモ、パンク、ラウド、メタル系にルーツを持つ。メンバーには2017年に活動の幕を降ろしたモンスターバンド「Story of Hope」のメンバーであったHikaru Ito(Gt.)、またStory of Hopeギター安島龍人が在籍した5人組バンド「MAMY」のShota Ouchi(Dr.)と現在はArtfilmとしても活動しているKouhei Kato(Ba.)、そして同バンドで活動するFumihiro Kosai(Gt.)の4人からなる。
メンバーはそれぞれの音楽活動を経て、 “最高に良い音楽を作ろう”と集結した面々で、今作デジタルリリースとなった「Solaris」はBarrier Reefの音楽を提示する強靭な1作となっている。
