The Tragic Rise and Fall of Whitney Houston (Self Love Part 2)
"Where do broken hearts go?" Whitney Houston crooned in the 1980s. "Can they find their way home?" In this episode, I deconstruct the meteoric rise and tragic fall of a vocal genius and global superstar, who experienced a deafening crescendo of heartbreak. From her childhood... to her career... to her marriage, Whitney's life was infested with people in her Inner Circle and beyond, who kept breaking her Loving, giving and sensitive heart. Unfortunately, because she lacked a depth of Self Love, Whitney did not have an impenetrable armor of Self Love aro...

Is Self Love the Greatest Love of All? — Whitney Houston, Jesus and You (Self Love Part 1)
Whitney Houston's chart-topping ballad, Greatest Love of All, is the most important Love song she sang in her lifetime. Why? Because it is all about the importance of Self Love. For the past few years, I have been conducting research and interviews on Love, happiness, friendship, and relationships. Time and again, all of my journalistic research keeps pointing to a single North Star:Falling in Love with yourself is the #1 most important thing you must do in your Lifetime. From Jesus... to Shakespeare... to Whitney Houston, people ha...

The Meteoric Rise of Girls Flag Football | Whitney Warmus
Girls flag football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States, and the numbers tell an undeniable story. Once considered a niche activity, girls' flag football has exploded in popularity in just five years—earning a spot in the 2028 Summer Olympics, becoming a fully sanctioned sport in the NAIA, and positioning itself as a potential future NCAA sport. At the high school level, participation has surged to 42,955 girls during the 2023–24 season, marking a staggering 105% year-over-year increase. Nationwide, nearly 500,000 girls ages 6–17 are now playing youth and competitive flag football, signaling a powerful shift in opportunities for female...

Sasha 4.0 - Coming Back from 2022 Burnout & Living 2023 with Intention
2022 was a challenging year filled with beautiful highs and frustrating lows. If I could describe my 2022 in one word, it would be "burnout". I thrived during the lockdown pandemic days. Going back to "normal" felt like a giant rollercoaster I did NOT want to be on and it really threw me off balance. It made it hard to focus and the things that became important fell by the wayside. I didn't feel like I could show up in an authentic way and sporadically podcasted as a result. 2023 has been wildly different. At the beginning of the year I told...

This starts off in childhood as often the only or one of few Black kids in class through experiencing life as balancing two identifies - a 1st generation Nigerian American and culturally being raised as such, one foot in that world, while also a Black American with my other foot in that world dealing with all the stereotypes, discrimination, prejudice, and racism that...

Thoughts on Being Grateful for What We Have Now
Remember the days we hoped, prayed, manifested, and wished for what we have now? How quickly we forget about those days. In a society that puts so much energy and attention toward constant consumption and materialism, it is so important for us to be mindful to practice gratitude every single day and appreciation what we have here and now. Tomorrow is not promised or guaranteed yet in the pursuit of happiness, we forget this and forget to live in the present. We think that if we *just* have this one thing, if we just lose xyz pounds, or whatever...

Thoughts on Sheryl Underwood, Sharon Osbourne & Being Black in the Workplace
It’s nothing new that white privilege runs rampant in many spaces including work environments which makes them very toxic environments for Black people and BIPOC however it’s very rare to witness as explicit of an example as we did last week. On March 11, 2021’s episode of The Talk, Sharon Osbourne thought it was a good idea to cuss out and verbally berate her coworker Sheryl Underwood on national television. The show is currently on hiatus pending an investigation but if the shoe had been on the other foot and Sheryl Underwood as a black woman did the same thing...

Our self-talk is comprised of our inner thoughts and the messages we tell ourselves. If you exist in a scarcity mentality, those thoughts can often be limiting, negative, and hyper critical. Thoughts on 40 Days of Self-Care & Love: Boundaries
I recently posted a few pieces of content about boundaries on Instagram and TikTok that seemed to resonate and align with a lot of people and receive so much feedback and questions. Thoughts on DEI & Representation, Tokenism, and Being the Change
Oh wow, say that five times fast! When we talk about diversity, representation, inclusion, and equity, these are terms that people sometimes use interchangeably but they have distinct and impactful different meanings and outcomes. For example, just because diversity and representation is present in an organization or environment, that doesn’t necessarily mean it is inclusive or equitable. Diversity and representation without equity and inclusion amounts to tokenism and if you see this in your spaces, it’s time to act. Let’s talk about it!

Wellthy Wednesday - 10 Min Self-Talk Meditation
Our thoughts become our actions which manifest in how we talk to an treat ourselves, how we allow ourselves to be treated, and ultimately how we treat others. It all starts with self-talk which is the messages we tell ourselves. These messages are the soundtrack to and of our lives. Of the thousands of thoughts we think each day, 80% of them are negative. During our meditation today, we reflect on this negative self-talk and how we can ultimately change the messages we are sending ourselves because we are worthy of joy, love, and good things.

Self-care is such an important but understated and often misunderstood practice. During our meditation, we take the time to reflect on self-care and how we can make it a priority. Self-care at it’s core is a practice in which we make time to care and love on ourselves, understanding we cannot pour from an empty cup so we make our wellness, health, and happiness our attention. “What do you do?” If it seems like that’s the first question people ask upon meeting you, you’re not alone or wrong. But it’s the wrong question to ask and in time I hope people will stop. Considering the fact we live in a capitalistic society that bases people’s worth and value on what they produce, it’s not surprising but “what we do” can be taken away in the blink of an eye. And then what? How do you define yourself then? What’s left? Something much more important actually - Who You Are. How do you answer that?

There was a call to amplify Black voices and need for more representation and diversity on social media over the summer. Thoughts on the Power of Celebrity & Who We Give Platforms
Over the past few months it has become more clear the importance of who we give platforms, whose voices we choose to amplify, and how we should use the platforms that we have. America is a land rife with celebrity worship and idolization however it is time for that to come to an end. We should not wait for celebrities to tell us how to feel or what to think but instead recognize the power of our own platforms and use them effectively.

Thoughts on the Lie Politics Aren't Personal
I’ve seen it said over and over again - “I don’t want to talk about politics.” Or a variation of it which is even more of a lie, “It’s just politics, it isn’t personal.” This is a lie and a mentality that couldn’t be further from the truth. How we vote, what we believe, our ideologies are absolutely personal and they don’t only effect us but the people around us.

Thoughts on Toxic Positivity & Women Critiquing Other Women
