The South African Medical Association and civil group, Section 27 have raised concerns about the health care system in KwaZulu Natal. The groups have warned the system is in dire straits. In a memo addressed to KZN MEC for Health Sibongiseni Dhlomo, they list problems such as a shortage of staff, broken equipment, lack of essential medicines and poor management.
