Originally written as the second movement to my 4th symphony, it became a stand-alone favorite after it was performed by the Surrey Hills Orchestra in 2011, then again by the Zelmann orchestra in 2012. The isolated version of the piece was performed again as you hear it now by the NSO in 2014, and described as 'Wind players fighting to get more playtime.'
