The seventh episode of 꿈 Kkum is the set from DJ Yazi who is half of an improvisation DJ unit - 'Twin Peaks' and a Techno/Ambient/Experimental Artist based in Tokyo.

DJ Yazi는 90년대 중반부터 도쿄의 악명높은 아방가르드 힙합그룹 Think Tank의 멤버로 활동해왔다. 이 그룹은 레이블 Black Smoker Records로 발전하였고, 또한 El Nino라는 이름의 실험적인 클럽 나잇 시리즈를 만들었는데, DJ Yazi는 지난 20년간 El Nino의 레지던트 디제이로 활약하고 있다.

DJ Yazi has been active since the mid-1990s, as a member of Tokyo’s notoriously avant-garde hip hop group called Think Tank. The record label Black Smoker Records founded by the group took their experimentalism to a series of club nights called El Nino, and DJ Yazi remains its resident for two decades. Drawing inspiration from across the musical spectrum: the mentality of hip hop, the intensity of dub and jazz, the ferocity of techno and the euphoria of house. As a DJ he moves fluidly across styles, with his sets connected by a strong focus on deep and tripped out grooves.
His attention to details, precision and masterful control over the decks clearly show his long time involvement in this art form. Techno hit Japan hard in the early 1990s.Takaaki Itoh was quickly impressed and intrigued with this new sound. The unique style of beats revealed the gateway to a new world of underground music in Japan - something he had never heard before.
in 1994,Takaaki began to organize his own techno parties in his home of northern Japan. By providing a fantastic lineup, his parties quickly became a success.
In 1996, having decided that it was time to start making his own tracks, His Japanese style of techno was pure, unique and underground - nothing that had been heard before in Europe. His reputation and popularity quickly spread all over the continent. He was becoming recognized as Japan's most underground and respected techno DJ. As of 2001 he was getting offers to perform at large clubs and festivals all over Europe, like awakenings,berghain,tresor. Promoters wanting him, party people loving him, Takaaki Itoh took the next step and started his own label Wols.
