Suspect arrested in shooting of 2 Minnesota lawmakers
Former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were fatally shot in their home early Saturday morning in what Gov. Tim Walz called a “politically motivated assassination.” State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were also shot multiple times in their home about nine miles away. In tumultuous times, we can be frightened into withdrawing from the news and the challenges of our day, or we can ask in every situation: How is God “reaching out” to us? Since I believe he redeems all he allows, I believe we can ask how he could redeem even this mom...

Kamala Harris and Tim Walz were “shocked” and “stunned” by their loss
Kamala Harris was “completely shocked” by her election night loss to Donald Trump, while her running mate, Tim Walz, was so “stunned” by their defeat that he had “no words.” Their campaign team “bought the hype” that they were doing better than they were based on crowd sizes and fundraising. But believing something doesn’t necessarily make it true, as any politician who lost a race they thought they would win can tell you. The same can be said of those who do not believe in heaven and hell. Their disbelief does not equal belief. How can you help spread truth and l...

How to experience Thanksgiving in three tenses: “It’s one thing to be grateful. It’s another to give thanks”
Billy Graham noted: “According to today’s standards, the Pilgrims had almost nothing, but they possessed a profound and heartfelt gratitude to God for his love and mercy.” Today we continue our look at the meaning of thanksgiving in a redeemed life with Christ, focusing on what Jesus has done for us in the past, in the present, and in the future. Tim Keller was right: “Gratitude is what you feel. Thanksgiving is what you do.”About Denison Forum and The Daily ArticleToday's Daily Article was written by Dr. Jim Denison and narrated by Chris Elki...

Kamala Harris interview avoids major DNC agenda: Why what she didn’t address is more telling than what she did
Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz gave her first interview with the press in a pre-recorded sit-down with CNN’s Dana Bash last night. They discussed the economy, energy, the border, and Israel, but they avoided an equally crucial agenda piece of their party that continues to remain in the background despite serving as a focal point at the DNC. Alternating campaign tactics is largely influenced by an issue’s impact on voters’ fears and desires, but the Lord calls us to a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. About...

Will Governor Tim Walz win over undecided voters? Why Kamala Harris’s pick for VP may not be the safe choice many expected
