On Feb. 4, Ted King, Buck Miller, Ryan Atkins and Eric Batty plan to head out from Attawapiskat First Nation in Northern Ontario for Nunavut. They’ll aim their fat bikes into James Bay and ride to Akamiski Island, about 20 km from the mainland and part of the northern territory. From Akamiski, the four will go toward Moosonee and Moose Factory. The ultimate destination is Smooth Rock Falls, Ont., roughly 600 km south of their starting point.
