What Will WI Democrats Do if they Retake the Statehouse?
WORT 89.9FM Madison · What Will WI Democrats Do if they Retake the Statehouse? Brittany Carloni(photo by Nicholas Wootton) Fourteen years ago, a national Republican wave election swept the GOP into control of both houses of the Wisconsin Legislature and the governor’s house. Since then, although Democrat Tony Evers defeated Republican Governor Scott Walker in 2018, the Assembly and Senate have remained in Republican hands, largely thanks to the GOP-approved legislative maps, considered by many experts the worst-gerrymandered districts in the nation. In 2026, however, the second election under new, presumably fairer, maps, Democrats have good...

Oil Grab
Greg Wilpert, German activist and founder of Venezuelanalysis.com, joins host Tony Castañeda to discuss recent events in Venezuela and beyond. Trump’s abduction of the Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, and his proclamation that the US will take over management of the country’s oil production is unpopular with normal Venezuelans in the country which runs counter to the spin coming from Washington. Election fraud and drug running are the two main reasons the Trump administration is highlighting for their illegal takeover, both of which are unproven. The impacts of this oil grab will be felt well...

Crying Wolf
The t’Rump administration has moved to roll back protections for imperiled species at the federal level. Meanwhile, Wisconsin State legislators have recently passed a bill that would mandate a wolf hunt with a hard cap goal regardless of science, pack health or ecological conditions. A falsehood perpetrated by these legislators is that wolves are causing untold damage to the agricultural community and impacting deer herd populations. This despite evidence showing that the deer population has increased by 80% over the past ten years, and damage done by deer to the agriculture economy far exceeds that by wolves. Meliss...

Terroir is on display in abundance with cheese produced in Wisconsin’s Driftless Zone, that portion of the state that escaped the glaciers 25,000 years ago.
