In the winter of 1989, the town of Larkspur, Missouri lost its only AM radio station to a snowstorm that knocked the tower offline. But the signal never died. For two weeks, between the hours of 2:17 and 3:44 AM, WQRT broadcast something else. Not music, not a voice — just a low, rhythmic static that sounded like breathing.
