Awakened Life, prt. 3
Prayer - "Your prayer life is at its best not when you're praying about big things occasionally but when you're praying about small things continually. At its best, prayer is a living conversation with God. Before there was any sin or suffering in this world, there was prayer. We're told Eve and Adam walked and talked with God in the cool of the evening. So, prayer isn't meant to be the solution to our problems - it is that, also - but the satisfaction of our relationship and intimacy with God." [Pete Greig]

Made For More: Meaning, Connection and Wholeness. We long for more because we're made for more. the Bible describes us human creatures as being made in the image of God. That explains a w hole lot about us. It explains our Creator's original design for us, and it explains our longings, like why we ache for a purpose, why we crave connection with others, and why we hunger for wholeness. This image of God thing means that we're made for more than we're probably experiencing. It means we're made for a meaningful purpose, connected relationships, and satisfying wholeness.

Intimacy, prt 2: Self-Awareness (Katie Heckel)
In the Bible, a lack of awareness is often compared to blindness. And blindness is often portrayed as a central obstacle to intimacy with God and others. So how does God help us with our blindness? Two ways: 1/ God utilizes other people to help us see. 2/ God helps us with our blindness is by showing it to us. How we respond once we’ve become aware has the ability to grow us closer to one another building intimacy or it can push us away from one another breaking intimacy.

This week at Thrive...let’s dive into Identity! A really tricky thing about identity is that we tend to embrace whatever gives us approval as the thing that defines our identity. Basically, identity is the definition of myself that I accept from the thing that gives me approval. When it comes to identity, there are a million ways we can get it wrong, but there’s a clear way we can get it right and live out an identity that’s worth your life. Instead of living your life for approval, you can live your life from approval as a n...

Kingdom Values: Gospel (Hugh Griffith)
This week at Thrive...Gospel. “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.” -Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride. “Gospel” is one of those Christianese words that we toss around a lot, and we kind of know what it means…but do we really? Or if we know what it means, are we truly living it out?

Katie teaches on how the expression of grief and distress is an important aspect of our relationship with God. By looking at the book of Lamentations, we learn that the appropriate response to the brokenness in our world is to communicate our distress and grief to God. The Moses Method for Moving from Exile to Purpose
Life was going along smoothly for the most part. You had your routine. You had your people. You knew your identity and your purpose. Sure, life was a burden at times, but it was mostly good--and at least it was predictable. But then...a turning point. Everything changed. Suddenly. Abruptly. And now everything's different. You're far from where you wish you were, longing for what you used to have. And you worry and wonder how it'll all play out. All that probably feels true about you, my college student friend, and it is. But it was first true of Mose...
