The Great Anarchists
Leo Tolstoy (and William Lloyd Garrison): Anarchism, Pacifism, and Christianity
Can you be a religious anarchist? Bakunin probobly thought not; Emma Goldman thought so. But any way you look at it, Tolstoy was a beautiful writer with a beautiful Christian vision. I agree with him, and Petr Chelčický, and William Lloyd Garrison, that Christianity is incompatible with human government.PS pacifism entails antistatism

January 28, 2006: Computer-Related Topics - Kevin Mitnick | Pole Shift - Lloyd Stewart Carpenter
Art Bell welcomes pole shift researcher Lloyd Stewart Carpenter, who presents alarming scientific indicators suggesting the Earth may be approaching a magnetic reversal. Lloyd reports that the sun's magnetic field has doubled since 1963 according to Russian scientists, that the Chandler wobble has mysteriously stopped, and that the Earth's equatorial circumference now exceeds its polar measurement by 27 miles. He connects these findings with biblical and cross-cultural prophecies describing the Earth rolling like a scroll. In the second half, legendary hacker Kevin Mitnick discusses the growing threat of botnets and zombie computer armies. He explains how malicious software turns ordinary...

No cyber risk insurance? Fool around and find out
WHAT happens if you don’t buy cyber risk insurance? Well, Jaguar Land Rover certainly found out earlier this year. The luxury carmaker was hit by a devastating cyber attack in late August, causing it to shut down its production lines for more than four weeks and costing it £50m a week. It only got things back to normal in early October. It was initially forced to withhold payments from suppliers. That is no small matter, given that the automotive parts supply chain, which famously runs on the just-in-time model, supports 200,000 jobs in the UK. It even had to turn to...

TUESDAY this week marked P&I renewal day. That’s the name given to the annual hard deadline for the 90% of the world fleet by tonnage entered with International Group P&I clubs to renew their liability insurance for the following year. Historically, the date was considered the first on which Baltic ports were sufficiently ice free to be navigable. That looks rather quaint in these days of global warning. But 20 February is now hallowed by tradition, and doing things on 1 January like everybody else would just be boring. So this week, as is now tradition, we are dedicating the po...

Pye's research into human genetics and archaeological anomalies suggests that conventional theories about human evolution are fundamentally flawed and ignore evidence for genetic intervention by non-human intelligences. He examines skull specimens and genetic evidence that appear to support theories about human-alien hybridization and the role of extraterrestrial intervention in human development. Pye discusses how academic institutions suppress evidence that challenges evolutionary orthodoxy while maintaining theories that cannot adequately explain human uniqueness and rapid...

My Response to William Lane Craig's Critique of My Divine Love Theory
Adam Lloyd Johnson responds to comments made by William Lane Craig about his Divine Love Theory. Craig critiqued Adam's Divine Love Theory for not also including an explanation of God's justice. Craig thought Adam's Divine Love Theory too closely resembled an idea called the 'Identity Thesis,' which claims that God's moral nature is reducible to just His love. Adam responds that his Divine Love Theory is only an explanation for moral value and moral obligation, not God's moral nature as a whole, and thus it does not need to take special account of God's justice.

William Lloyd Garrison - HONOR - S2 E26
William Lloyd Garrison was an exceptional editor and abolitionist during the early 19th century bringing forth a strong opposition to the institution of slavery in America. His publication, The Liberator, used incredibly direct, inflammatory language to counter the aweful practices of and apathetic attitudes about slavery and the social conundrum that "peculiar institution" inflicted on the American way of life. Together with his friend, Wendell Phillips, William Lloyd Garrison managed to heighten the awareness for the evils of the slave trade in all of its forms and the continued absurdity of treating freed persons as second-class citizens. For his tir...

Stuart Sisters: Queen Mary II and Queen Anne (episode 59)
Born in 1662 and 1665, Stuart Princesses Mary and Anne came into a turbulent world—especially turbulent for the royal family. Their grandfather, King Charles I, had been executed by Parliament in 1649. Their uncle, Charles II, had been invited to come back to England and restore the monarchy in 1660. Then there was the Great Plague of 1665 and the Great Fire of 1666. In 1671, when Mary was 9 and Anne was 6, their mother died. Over the years, the two girls had seen several baby siblings die as well. Their life may have been royal, but it had not been particularly carefree.Worried ab...

Britain was officially discovered when Julius Caesar made to expeditions in 55 and 54 BC. He did not successfully invade England; that job was left to his successor Plautius in 43 AD. From that time, Britain was part of the Roman Empire.Part 2, King ArthurIt’s at the Battle of Badon Hill where reports of a famous warrior or leader (or perhaps king?) emerges.
