前回まで滞在していたQLD州を南下して、その下の州のNSW州までやってきました
東海岸の海沿いに”コフスハーバー”という大きな街があるのですが、
この近くにある小さな町・ウールグールガ（Woolgoolga）にてある旅行者に出会いました
サーフィンをしながらファームジョブの仕事を掛け持ちしているという
大阪出身のイケメン筋肉男子のアキさんに、
ここでの暮らしや豪州のサーフィン事情について訊いてきました
海をバックに愛用のサーフボードと一緒に写るアキさん。ここで出会うサーファーはアキさんを筆頭にパドリング（上半身を使って波をかきわけて前へ進んでいくこと）で鍛え上げられた上半身が印象的でした。サーファーたちの間ではパドリングでついた筋肉のことを”パド筋”と呼ぶそうです。
ここウールグールガは、とある果物のファームジョブで有名な場所のようです
その果物とは、目が良くなると言われているブルーベリーです
そうです、ここはブルーベリーの収穫の仕事で有名な町だったのです
ゲストのアキさんも、このブルーベリーの収穫が忙しくなる時期に合わせて
住んでいたゴールドコーストから自分の車を運転して引越してきたそうです
それにしても、ここオーストラリアでインド人のファームが沢山あるなんて、
話を聞くまでまったく想像もしていませんでした
