Gospel: Union
Life, Death, Resurrection, and Union. This is the pattern of the Gospel. We first receive this reality as an unmerited gift from God, and second we give our lives to live this pattern out in our lives. The End of the Story after our death is not floating away to a disembodied "heaven" somewhere else, but rather participation in the "New Heavens and New Earth". Jesus as our King in Revelation said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Keithen wraps up this series teaching that end of the story is a people redeemed and reconciled to God living...

Gospel: The Family of God
Is the Gospel about me? My salvation? My freedom? My healing? Or did Jesus come for something so much greater? In this teaching, Keithen leads us in a discussion about the Union of heaven and earth through the lens of the Family of God. Calling out the lies of Modern American Individualism, we read in the book of Revelation that God is rescuing and healing a family, that in turn joins him in rescuing and healing the world. This is the Church, and today we talk about how the Church is the Bride of Christ and eventually will inherit...

Gospel: The New Self
Are we destined to live our entire lives following Jesus continually stuck in sin and never getting any better? Or is there a different and better story available? Phil Maberry leads us in a conversation about the New Self vs the Old Self from Ephesians chapter 4. Resurrection is much more than a one time event in the life of Jesus, but rather the pattern of new life we are invited to live in every day.

Gospel: Resurrection
The next phase of the Gospel Series shifts this week to a two week conversation about Resurrection. What does the death and resurrection of Jesus mean for us, and what does this say about the nature of the world we live in? The reversal of death itself is an anchor of hope in the center of human history that points to the eternal power and authority of God. Raegan takes us in as we chat about the great reversal at the heart of the universe.

Gospel: Violence of Sin
Sin is not just an individual reality, but a corporate reality. Sin not only breaks our relationship with God, Destroys us, but also unleashes chaos in human relationships around us. Raegan Griffith guides us through a diagnosis of the broken nature of human relationships and how the gospel is the answer to the warfare, hatred, division, and violence of our world.

Gospel: Destructive Power of Sin
In our second teaching on SIN in the gospel series, we need to look at the effect that sin has on a person. John 10:10 says that the thief (satan) comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Sin is the relational betrayal of the love of God that ultimately leads to our death and destruction. Is this the inevitable end of the story? Keithen walks us through the story of Jesus taking the destructive power of sin on himself to give us the opportunity to live a life free from the power of sin.

Gospel: Sin
Why is the world so messed up? If God created us for love and from love, why is there so much evil and chaos in the world? Pastor Ashley Anderson kicks off the second movement of the Gospel Series with a conversation about Sin and Separation from God. To understand redemption, we must first accurately diagnose the disease that is destroying our world and our very lives. Jesus comes to heal us, save us, and recreate us because sin has so badly warped our world. But there is so much freedom and healing available.

Gospel: Purpose
Why were we created? Does the Gospel message address the ultimate purpose of life, or is this only about getting out of this life and into the next? What was the intention behind God creating human beings on the earth? What does any of this have to do with Jesus? Keithen unpacks the concept of partnership with God as outlined in Genesis and carrying on through the entire story of Scripture.

Gospel: Secure Identity
Before Genesis 3, is Genesis 1 and 2. The Gospel Story starts not in our sin, but rather in the love of God and the identity we have as his daughters and sons. Raegan Griffith teaches us that our Security in our Identity can only flow from a Security in Relationship with God. When that relational security is fractured with him, the root of all insecurity emerges. The gospel is the story of God healing and restoring us back to our original intention and design. That is good news.

Gospel?
In our world today, there is SO MUCH CONFUSION around the message of Jesus. Who was Jesus? What was his mission? What was the result of his life and teachings? Is Jesus good for the world? In the middle of all of the confusion, we want to bring clarity. The Gospel is the TRUE story of God moving in Human History to heal creation, save humanity, and restore all things. Keithen Schwahn Leads us in our fall launch of the new Series called "Gospel".

All → Work
A third of our life is sleep, a third of our life is work, and a third of our life is everything else. A Theology of work is so important if we are to live an ALL IN life of discipleship. Ben Griffith leads us in a powerful conversation about the nature of work and our unique place in the ecosystem of the Kingdom of God. God is looking for partners in new creation. Will you join in?

All → Time
Does our calendar reflect our commitment to follow Jesus? If you were to do a time audit, would your time spent in the past week reflect the Kingdom Values of Heaven or the value system of America? Bekah Hewitt launches us into a conversation about time and how we can pour out days as an offering to God. There are many things competing for our time, so how do we live as disciples in this moment? Hopefully this chat is helpful in this conversation.

All → Celebration
Do people of the world enjoy life more than people that follow Jesus? This is the question Keithen unpacks in this week's youth teaching. Jesus offers his disciples a life of joy, adventure, spirit power, and purpose, yet many Christians live suppressed lives, longing for the pleasures of the world. Does it have to be this way? In this teaching walk through the gospels and alongside theologians to find that celebration is actually a "Spiritual Discipline" and central to the life of an apprentice of Jesus.

All → Relationships
Discipleship is an all in journey of becoming like Jesus. We give up all aspects and every dynamic of our lives in order to receive what he called, "life and life to the full". This week Keithen leads us in a frank conversation about the relationships of our lives. What does it look like to live a consecrated relational life as a student in New York City? We want to recognize the "crowd", the '72", the "12", and the "3" in our lives and leverage all relationships toward hosting the presence of God on the earth.

All → The Myth of the Sacred and Secular Divide
Psalm 139 reminds us that there is nowhere that God is not, yet we often function in our world as if there are some spaces where he is, and others where he is not. The death and resurrection of Jesus begins a new era in human history, as the presence of God floods the earth. Yet many Christians want to live as though God's presence remains only in "religious" spaces. Raegan leads us in a discussion around our ability to grow to see God like Jacob who is, "surely in this place" yet we are "unaware of it"?

All → A Series to diagnose the weak culture of American Youth Discipleship.
We are kicking off a new teaching series titled “All”. Jesus’ invitation to follow him was a call to give all in allegiance to him, yet much of youth discipleship in the modern church look like asking the least you can of a young person as long as they affiliate themselves with the Christian religion at some level. This is far from the faith that the martyrs of history and around the world today have given their lives for. In this series we will see that Jesus asks ALL, but also that he gives ALL. If he is the prize of our...

Healing
Does God still heal physical bodies today? Is the gift of healing for our time or was this just something we observe in the life of Jesus? Shelbi Shutt guides us through this conversation as a person living with an ongoing physical disability, yet has seen healing happen around her. Praying in the Spirit : Tongues
One of the more controversial gifts of the spirit, speaking in tongues, was never meant to be divisive. Paul urges all believers to "eagerly desire the gifts of the spirit" and reports to speak in tongues (or prayer languages) more than anyone. Yet the book of Acts accounts only 3 instances of the 22 moments people are filled with the Holy Spirit, that someone speaks in tongues. This is a gift given from God to fuel the church in intimacy and is not meant to create hierarchy or spiritual strata within the family of God. We want to grow in intimacy...

The Gift of Discernment
One of the least discussed Gifts of the Spirit is the Gift of Discernment. This gift is given to guide the follower of Jesus to know his voice, and to discern his spirit against the spirits of the enemy. In a world of competing voices all vying for our attention, it is crucial for our generation to know the voice of God more than ever. Raegan walks us through simple frameworks to "test the spirits" and walk in truth.

Hearing God
This week we hear from a panel of leaders about the concept of "Hearing God". There are so many ways that God speaks through the scriptures, and he is the same in how he speaks today. Keithen gives us some theological framing about "continuationism" vs "cessationism", as we believe that God continues to speak and lead his people today. Raegan then hit us with some guiding principles of discernment to make sure that what you are sensing from God actually is from him.

Stuff the Spirit Does
Are the "Gifts of the Spirit" meant for some people, but not all people? Often we hear the list of the Spiritual Gifts listed off like Super Powers that either you have or you don't. But the text of 1 Corinthians 12 is much more about willingness to be used by God, than it is about specific powers that some have and some don't. Keithen suggests that the power of God is looking for a humble and open spirit to flow through to the world, and that we can be have that spirit.

Fruit of the Spirit
The natural byproduct of a life lived in connection to God's Spirit are the Fruit of the Spirit. Jonathan Girma explains that the "Fruit reveals the Root" and that our life in God is revealed through the outcomes of our life. Rather than a striving toward virtuous living in the flesh, a life saturated in the spirit will naturally overflow his attributes in our lives.

What is the role of the Holy Spirit?
In our next conversation, we ask the question "What is the role of the Holy Spirit?" Raegan leads us in a conversation about our inability to love God and love others as we were created to without the empowering of the Spirit. His power empowers us to do what we an not do in our own power. The very same presence of God that empowered the ministry of Jesus lives within those who follow after him.

Who is the Holy Spirit?
We are kicking off our Holy Spirit Series with a simple question, "Who is the Holy Spirit?" Through the library of scripture and in the life of Jesus, we find that the Holy Spirit is not an abstract force, but a person to know. Keithen guides us in this opening teaching to a definition of the Holy Spirit as "The Empowering Presence of God".
