A former Director of Robertson Trust, a tribunal found he was unfairly dismissed him because of his Christian beliefs. The Trust has since apologised unreservedly and been ordered to pay substantial legal costs.

After graduating from the University of Edinburgh and the Free Church College (now Edinburgh Theological Seminary), Alistair was an Associate Pastor in Inverness before moving to Highland Theological College where he taught New Testament from 1996 to 2005.
