במחקר מקדים שערך ד"ר ברק בחיות מודל הוא גילה לפני כשלוש שנים שאחת הבעיות המוחיות שנובעות מפגיעה בגן GTF2I, שהוא אחד הגנים החסרים בתסמונת, היא מחסור במיאלין. מיאלין הוא חומר שעוזר בשיפור העברת המסר החשמלי במוח, והמחקר הראה שכאשר נותנים לעכבר המודל תרופה שעוזרת לייצר מיאלין, התרופה משפרת תפקוד מוחי ומובילה לשיפור בבעיות ההתנהגות המשוייכות לתסמונת.
כעת החוקרים ניגשים למחקר הקליני באנשים עם תסמונת ויליאמס, במטרה לבחון את יעילות ובטיחות התרופה בבני אדם. יחד עם זאת, כדי שהמחקר יהיה אפקטיבי הם קוראים לכמה שיותר אנשים עם תסמונת ויליאמס להצטרף למחקר.

Game TheoryHunt a Deer to Together: The Stag Hunt ProblemIn this episode, the boys review an element of Game Theory that seems to fly in the face of every basic tenant of self-interest.
The Stag Hunt, established by French Philosopher Jean-Jacque Rousseau in his work "Discourse on Inequality," creates a game wherein two hunters can either work together to secure a large shared bounty or work separately for a significantly smaller bounty.
This contradicts the Prisoner's Dilemma in which self-interest is always the rational move. In the Stag Hunt, collaboration is the way to go.
